The unification of Germany works differently in different versions of the game. In EU3 and Napoleon's Ambition, it was implemented as country event that, when the preconditions were met, could be accepted or declined, but only once. In Nomine has changed this unification to a decision. The article below lists the requirements and effects for each version separately.

Divine Wind

Description

Regardless of the absence of a strong, central authority, our nation is prospering. The Hanseatic League, formed by hundreds of towns in northern Germany, has contributed to the prosperity of our nation. Intellectual growth, combined with sea and overland trading, has also helped spur the development and transform our country into a wealthy manufacturing centre.

Requirements

  • Germany doesn't exist yet
  • Country is not the Holy Roman Empire
  • Primary culture is Hannoverian, Pommeranian, Hessian, Saxon, Bavarian, Prussian or Rheinlaender
  • Own and have cores on Mecklenburg, Brandenburg, Altmark, Lüneburg, Brunswick, Anhalt, Dresden, Leipzig, Thüringen and Franken
  • Be at peace

Effects

  • Get a core on all provinces in the German Region
  • All provinces in the German Region receive +1 base tax
  • -2 to Centralization/Decentralization slider
  • +1 merchant
  • +20 prestige
  • Country changes to Germany

In Nomine

Requirements

  • Germany must not already exist.
  • Primary culture must be Hannoverian, Pommeranian, Hessian, Saxon, Bavarian, Prussian or Rheinlaender.
  • You must own and have cores on Mecklenburg, Brandenburg, Altmark, Lüneburg, Brunswick, Anhalt, Dresden, Leipzig, Thüringen and Franken.

Effects

  • Change your country to Germany.
  • Grant cores on all provinces in German Region.
  • Gain +1 base tax in all provinces in German Region.
  • Gain two points toward centralization.
  • Gain +20 prestige.
  • Gain +1 merchant.

EU3 and Napoleon's Ambition

This map shows both the required provinces to form Germany and the optional ones needed to decrease the MTTH. The capital provinces of those countries with the correct national culture to receive the event are marked with a star.

This is an event that lets one change one's country name to Germany, receive claims on 47 German provinces as well as 2 points of centralization.

The following conditions must be met for the event to fire:

  • Germany must not already exist.
  • One must not have declined the event previously.
  • One must have either Hannoverian, Pommeranian, Hessian, Saxon, Bavarian or Rheinlaender as a primary culture.
  • One must own these provinces: Mecklenburg, Brandenburg, Altmark, Lüneburg, Hannover, Anhalt, Dresden, Leipzig, Erfurt and Franken.
  • One must not be at war.

Mean time to happen

The mean time to happen for this event is 996 months.

  • For each of these provinces owned the MTTH is decreased by 5%: Lübeck, Vorpommern, Hinterpommern, Neumark, Ruppin, Bremen, Oldenburg, Osnabrück, Meissen, Lausitz, Niederbayern, München, Bamberg, Schwaben, Konstanz, Wurttemberg, Leiningen, Breisgau, Tirol, Baden, Elsass, Salzburg, Pfalz, Wurzburg, Trier, Hessen, Lippe, Nassau, Berg, Köln, Münster, Kärnten, Steiermark, Linz and Wien.
  • The Bureaucracy national idea decreases the MTTH by 30%.
  • Centralization steps 2, 3 and 4 decrease the MTTH by 10% each. (30% total.)
  • Decentralization steps 2, 3 and 4 increase the MTTH by 10% each. (30% total.)
