The government tab of the domestic management interface with the policy sliders.

The domestic policy sliders are located at the bottom of the Government management interface. Each slider represents your nation's stance regarding a specific domestic policy on a spectrum from left (-5) to center (0) to right (5) for a total of 11 different positions. You receive bonuses or penalties to your realm based upon the position of each slider. Hover your cursor over each of the sliders to review the effects of your current domestic policy.

A nation can only change its sliders one step on one slider at a time, and only once in a certain number of years, which is determined by their government form's administrative efficiency and their number of provinces. Hover your cursor over your government type to display the number of years required between policy changes. To review the effects of changing a slider, hover your cursor over the arrows at the end of each slider. Certain government forms may limit the setting for one or more sliders. This limit will be displayed as a red arrow along the policy slider. The revolt risk in each of your provinces will increase by +1 for every step past this limit.

Each movement of a slider triggers a policy change event.

The effects of the eight domestic policy sliders are detailed below:

EU3 and Napoleon's Ambition

Changing the policy sliders is considered a disruptive process for your realm and will cause a loss of stability. If your stability is at -3 you will be unable to make any policy changes.

This slider reflects the level of influence from your aristocracy compared to the bourgeoisie.
