Naval missions are a group of missions that deal with naval issues.

This missions can be found in the file ..\missions\Construction.txt.

Construct a grand fleet

As a naval power, we must have a fleet big enough to defend our coastlines. We need to construct more ships of the line. Type:
  • Country

Acquisition conditions: Acquisition chance: Temporary effects:
  • None

Success conditions:
  • has at least 30 big ships.
Failure conditions:
  • does not have a port.

Reward:
  • Prestige: +20


Rule the seas

No other nation should have a bigger fleet than we do! We need to increase the size of our fleet until we have the most ships of the line. Type:
  • Country

Acquisition conditions: Acquisition chance: Temporary effects:
  • None

Success conditions:
  • All other known countries have less big ships than this country.
Failure conditions:
  • does not have a port.

Reward:


Construct a shipyard

Our nation lacks a proper shipyard, where we can construct the fleets we need so much. We now have the technology to construct one of these, and we should put that knowledge into action. Type:
  • Country

Acquisition conditions: Acquisition chance: Temporary effects:
  • None

Success conditions:
  • has at least 1 shipyard.
Failure conditions:
  • does not have a port.

Create a proper fleet

Our navy is a mere shell of what our nation expects. We need to build more ships or else our shores are vulnerable to pirates and enemy invasions. Type:
  • Own provinces

Acquisition conditions: Acquisition chance: Temporary effects:
  • None

Success conditions:
  • has a navy size of at least 99% of the forcelimit.
Failure conditions:
  • does not have a core province with port.

Reward:

Comment: The failure condition of this mission was changed with Divine Wind patch 5.2. Previously it was just: does not have a port.


Naval race versus $COUNTRY$

$COUNTRY$ has a fleet that outnumbers our own. They are our fierce rival, so this is not acceptable. We need to construct more ships. Type:
  • Rival countries

Acquisition conditions:
  • has at least 1 core province with port.
  • Rival country:
    • has at least 1 port.
    • has at least as much ships as this country.
    • has not an alliance with this country.
    • is not a vassal of this country.
    • is not the overlord of this country.
    • is not junior partner in a personal union with this country.
  • is not in the technology group: Sub-Saharan, New World or Nomad group
Acquisition chance:

Base weight: 1

Temporary effects:
  • None

Success conditions:
  • Rival country has less ships than this country.
Failure conditions:
  • At least one of the following must be true:
    • does not have a core province with port.
    • has an alliance with rival country.
    • Rival country:
      • is a vassal of this country.
      • is the overlord of this country.
      • is junior partner in a personal union with this country.

Maintain shipping routes

Our colonies need stable, protected shipping lanes in order to prosper. As such, we must build our navy to support our colonial ambitions. Galleys and transports are of no use for this. Type:
  • Country

Acquisition conditions:
  • has at least 1 port.
  • has a tariff efficiency of less than 80%.
  • has an overseas province percentage of at least 0.1%.
  • is not in the technology group: Sub-Saharan, New World or Nomad group
Acquisition chance:

Base weight: 1

  • has an overseas province percentage of at least 20%: ×2.0
  • has an overseas province percentage of at least 30%: ×2.0
  • has a tariff efficiency of less than 50%: ×2.0
Temporary effects:
  • None

Success conditions:
  • has an tariff efficiency of 100%.
Failure conditions:
  • At least one of the following must be true:
    • does not have a port.
    • has an overseas province percentage of less than 0.1%.
