Colonial missions are a group of nine generic missions which support the colonization of the world.

Discover $PROVINCENAME$

Rumours have reached our country of the rich lands of $PROVINCENAME$. Our navigators are asking for state support for an expedition to discover and claim these for our country. We believe it would be in $REGIONNAME$ in $CONTINENTNAME$. Type:
  • Empty provinces

Acquisition conditions: Acquisition chance: Temporary effects:
  • None

Success conditions:
  • has discovered the target province.
Failure conditions:
  • At least one of the following must be true:
    • does not have the national idea: Quest for the New World.
    • does not have a port.

Reward:


Colonize $PROVINCENAME$ (empty)

We must establish a colony in $PROVINCENAME$ to help boost the glory and wealth of our nation. Type:
  • Empty provinces

Acquisition conditions: Acquisition chance: Temporary effects:
  • None

Success conditions:
  • owns the target province.
Failure conditions:
  • At least 1 of the following must be true:
    • does not have a port.
    • Target province is not empty.

Colonize $PROVINCENAME$ (neighbouring)

With the nomadic hordes on our doorstep we need to carve out a buffer zone to protect our valuable core provinces. Sending colonists to $PROVINCENAME$ will increase our chance of bringing into our control. Type:
  • Neighbouring provinces

Acquisition conditions:
  • is not a steppe horde.
  • The owner of the target province:
    • is a steppe horde.
    • is at war with this country.
  • The target province is controlled by the target province owner or this country.
Acquisition chance:
  • Base weight: 100
  • has at least 1 colonist: ×2
  • has at least 2 colonists: ×2
  • has at least 3 colonists: ×2
Temporary effects:
  • None

Success conditions:
  • owns the target province.
Failure conditions:
  • At least one of the following must be true:
    • The target province is not controlled by the target province owner or this country.
    • is not at war with the target province owner.
    • The target province is not a neighbouring province.

Reward:


Turn $PROVINCENAME$ into a city

Our colony in $PROVINCENAME$ must be expanded to ensure the interests of our settlers are defended. Type:
  • Own provinces

Acquisition conditions:
  • is not at war.
  • has at least 1 colonist.
  • has a monthly income of at least 10Ducats.png.
  • Target province is a colony.
Acquisition chance:
  • Base weight: 1
Temporary effects:
  • None

Success conditions:
  • owns the target province.
  • Target province is not a colony.
Failure conditions:
  • does not own the target province.

Success conditions:
  • owns at least 1 province in the Caribbean.
Failure conditions:
  • At least one of the following must be true:

    • does not have discovered an empty province in the Caribbean.

Found an East-American colony

Our merchants have founded a company to trade with the wealth of the Americas, and they ask for royal protection to assist their activities. Type:
  • Country

Acquisition conditions: Acquisition chance:
  • Base weight: 1
  • has at least 5 ports: ×1.5
Temporary effects:
  • None

Success conditions:
  • owns at least 1 province in The Thirteen Colonies.
Failure conditions:
  • At least one of the following must be true:
    • does not have a port.
    • does not have discovered an empty provinces with port in the Thirteen Colonies.

Establish a presence in Canada

The cold northern lands of Canada have untapped riches, we must found a colony there and take our share. Type:
  • Country

Acquisition conditions: Acquisition chance:
  • Base weight: 1
  • has at least 5 ports: ×1.5
Temporary effects:
  • None

Success conditions:
  • owns at least 1 province in the region Northern America.
Failure conditions:
  • At least one of the following must be true:
    • does not have a port.
    • does not have discovered an empty provinces with port in the region Northern America.

Establish $COUNTRY$ in the Spice Islands

The wealth that can be generated from spice trading is huge. We must establish ourselves in the Spice Islands so we can profit from it. Type:
  • Country

Acquisition conditions:
  • is not at war.
  • has at least 3 port.
  • is a Christian country.
  • has discovered at least 1 province with port within colonial range in Indonesia.
  • does not own a province in Indonesia.
Acquisition chance: Temporary effects:
  • None

Success conditions:
  • owns at least 1 province in Indonesia.
Failure conditions:
  • does not have a port.

Get a presence in India

The legendary wealth of the Indies has carried men on super human voyages of discovery. Now for us to tap it properly we must seize bases there. Type:
  • Country

Acquisition conditions:
  • is not at war.
  • has at least 3 port.
  • is a Christian country.
  • has a monthly income of at least 70Ducats.png.
  • havs discovered at least 1 province with port within colonial range in India.
  • does not own a province in India.
Acquisition chance: Temporary effects:
  • Conquest of all discovered provinces with port within colonial range in India - casus belli

Success conditions:
  • owns at least 1 province in India.
Failure conditions:
  • does not have a port.

Get into China!

The huge wealth of Cathay[1] has attracted your merchants. They are calling for you to support their efforts by gaining a port from which to trade from. Type:
  • Country

Acquisition conditions:
  • is not at war.
  • has at least 5 port.
  • is a Christian country.
  • has a monthly income of at least 100Ducats.png.
  • has discovered at least 1 province with port within colonial range at the Chinese coast[2].
  • does not own a province at the Chinese coast[2].
Acquisition chance: Temporary effects:
  • Conquest of all discovered provinces with port within colonial range at the Chinese coast[2]. - casus belli

Success conditions:
  • owns at least 1 province at the Chinese coast[2]..
Failure conditions:
  • does not have a port.
