Esprit de corps is a national idea which increases discipline of the army. This idea is very useful for a warlike country, the only problem is it only becomes available late in the game, due to the high technology requirements.
Ingame description
Traditional armies relied on furious discipline to maintain order in the ranks, however, by appealing to unit pride we can reach even higher levels of discipline.
