Missionaries are agents used to convert the religion of an owned province. For a fee (as well as monthly upkeep), Missionaries will attempt to convert the populace to the state religion — though their behaviour will stir up the populace, increasing local revolt risk. No improvements may be constructed while a Missionary is active in a province.
Benefits of converting a province
- Lower Stability Cost
- Higher tax income. (lose 30% penalty for different religion in province)
- Higher Population growth
- Lower Revolt Risk (If converting from another religion (ex. Christian to Muslim)
- Allows the province to begin cultural assimilation (If Core)
- Converted pagan or animist provinces get your culture.
- Preventing your neighbours from getting a mission to save the province from the heathens. (Only if the neighbour have the "original" faith).
